May he rest in peace and god bless his family. Contains Graphic Violence! Derrion Albert was the victim of a fatal beating on September 24, 2009, near Christian Fenger Academy High School, on Chicago's South Side. Albert, 16, was an sophomore honor student at the school.
Reports and video indicate that Albert was unintentionally caught in a fight between gangs from two neighborhoods, Altgeld Gardens and The Ville. Police have arrested four individuals, Silvanus Shannon, Eric Carson, Eugene Riley, and Eugene Bailey for first-degree murder, and are seeking three others.
