Disable The Send Error Report, to Microsoft

To disable Send Error Report feature in Windows XP which tries to send a report to Microsoft every time a program crashes you will have to do this:

  • Open Control Panel
  • Click on Preformance and Maintenance.
  • Click on System.
  • Then click on the Advanced tab
  • Click on the error reporting button on the bottom of the windows.
  • Select Disable error reporting.
  • Click OK
  • Click OK, again!

Disable Compression On XP, NTFS partition, Disk Cleanup

On an NTFS partition, Disk Cleanup can compress old files to save space. But calculating the savings and performing the compression often take a long time, and on some systems,

Disk Cleanup hangs during the process. If that happens, or if

How to Delete an un-deletable file

Open a Command Prompt window and leave it open.

Close all open programs.

Click Start, Run and enter TASKMGR.EXE

Go to the Processes tab and End Process on Explorer.exe.

Leave Task Manager open.

Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory the AVI (or other undeletable file) is located in.

At the command prompt type DEL where is the file you wish to delete.

Go back to Task Manager, click F...
